With EZ Update you can automatically update your library or set a custom schedule to download updates online. ATP is partnered with best in class network and technology providers to bring you worldwide reliability and performance. EZ Update is available to you on the same day ATP finalizes each product revision, giving you immediate access to the most current information.

Getting Started Checklist

Here are a few quick tips to assist you in planning for a successful installation.

1. Plan time to complete the installation.

If you are a Regulatory Library user, the upgrade will take no more than 30 minutes.

If you are a Maintenance Library user, it will take 10 minutes for the software and approximately 30 minutes per CD or disk.

2. Check to insure your computers meet the minimum hardware and software specifications for ATP NavigatorV® Release 6. (Refer to the System Operating Requirements)

If you do not meet the minimum requirements, contact ATP Customer Care to review your options for installing NavigatorV® Release 6.

If you are not sure, call ATP Customer Care and they can help you with the specifications.

3. Check to insure you have the required third party software installed.

.NET 1.1 from Microsoft

IE (Internet Explorer) 6.0 or later version

Adobe Reader 7.0 is strongly recommended; Adobe Reader 6.0 is the minimum required version.

When we ship ATP NavigatorV® Release 6 you will receive a third party vendor disk with all the required software.

You can also install the third party software yourself ahead of time, although this is not required.

Do you have a broadband Internet connection?

• ATP NavigatorV® Release 6 software includes EZ Update so you can automatically download library revisions online. A DSL or equivalent internet connection is required to use EZ Update.

Networking Your ATP Libraries

ATP NavigatorV® Release 6 can be configured for a Local Area Network (LAN), Wide Area Network (WAN) or wireless environment.

Do you want all your computers to be able to access your ATP libraries?

• Are your computers networked?

If you have one printer and two computers sharing the same printer, you
are probably on a network.

We strongly recommend you install content on only one computer when
you set up ATP NavigatorV® Release 6 in a networked environment.

Contact your Sales Representative or ATP Customer Care for pricing and
configuration details for LAN/WAN implementation.

Is there more than 1 user accessing the same ATP library at the same time?

ATP NavigatorV® Release 6 includes a user license that tracks the number of concurrent users—that is, if you only have a one user license, only one computer running ATP NavigatorV® Release 6 can access the content.

ATP’s concurrent licensing supports the manufacturer licensing requirements to reduce unauthorized LAN/WAN usage.

If you need more user licenses or to check if you are in compliance, contact ATP Customer Care or your Sales Representative.

Do you want to use NavigatorV® Release 6 in a wireless network?

ATP NavigatorV® Release 6 will work in a wireless environment. If you have a computer in the library for all your content and several laptops out on the shop floor, connection through a wireless network is easy.

A wireless network allows you to install and manage all the content on one computer and still have all your information accessible without needing a wired network.
Note: Be sure you to enable the wireless security features—a wireless network is open
to everyone unless you work to secure it. Most wireless equipment comes with its
own security features (refer to the manufacturer documentation that came with your
wireless equipment). You may also want to consult with an experienced IT solution
provider for more information on your wireless security options.

System Operating Requirements

Processor: Pentium 4 or equivalent recommended / Pentium 3 or equivalent required

Memory: 256 MB RAM or higher recommended / 128 MB RAM required

Operating System: Windows XP, Windows 2000 or Windows Server 2003

Disk Drive: CD-ROM and/or DVD-ROM

EZ Update requires DSL or equivalent Internet connection.

Hard disk space requirements vary depending on libraries purchased and installed.

NOTES

Microsoft no longer supports Windows 98, ME, or NT effective June, 2006. ATP is following Microsoft in no longer supporting these versions. ATP NavigatorV® Release 6 will not operate in these environments.

The FAA forms provided with ATP NavigatorV® were created using Microsoft Word. ATP supports Microsoft Word only. If you do not have Microsoft Word, you can use Microsoft Word Viewer to print the FAA forms and manually enter information (this application is free and can be downloaded from Microsoft at www.microsoft.com/downloads). ATP recommends these two options. Any other word processor is not supported by ATP.
