Findings from our Test
The FAA web site is accurate and contains all ADs when used properly with the user conducting multiple searches and using the correct criteria. However, here are some other findings a recent attempt to find additional ADs at www.faa.gov:
- Beechcraft was purchased by Hawker Beechcraft, however some TCs still say Raytheon. Remember to look for Beechcraft ADs under Raytheon and Hawker Beechcraft but not Beechcraft.
- DeHavilland was bought by Bombardier and then Viking. The DHC-7 model ADs can be found under Viking but don’t think you have them all because the DHC-7 Series ADs are under Bombardier.
- Under Bombardier Inc. you will find the CL-600-1A11 with 9 ADs listed. But you are not done! Look under Bombardier Aerospace Inc and find 7 CL-600 Series ADs and an additional 30 model specific ADs. We found ADs under 3 different listings, did we get them all?
- Find the ADs for a Piper PA-14 now that Piper is not the TC holder. Did you look for a Twin Commander 840?
- If you don’t find you model are there no ADs or is the model listed someplace else? If you find your model is the list complete or are there other listings?
In the all these examples, ATP NavigatorV® quickly returned the ADs in seconds. ATP NavigatorV® has comprehensive indexing that goes further than the current Type Certificate holder to perform searches by all prior manufacturer or model name. ATP NavigatorV® delivers a single comprehensive list of Series, Model and all TC holders.
