In February, executives from ATP and CaseBank Technologies Inc., a Division of ATP, had the pleasure of attending the 2018 Singapore Airshow, one of the largest aerospace and defense conferences in the world (the largest in Asia). This biennial event draws the leading aerospace companies, as well as high-level government and military delegations. It’s widely known that southeast Asia is the world’s fastest-growing aviation market, and Singapore is the hub of that market hosting more than 100 aerospace companies. Singapore is also the leading location for aircraft maintenance, repair and operations (MRO) in southeast Asia.
The Singapore Airshow was the perfect backdrop for the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding that marks an agreement of collaboration between CaseBank Technologies and SIA Engineering Company Limited (SIAEC), a major provider of MRO services in Asia-Pacific, and a wholly-owned subsidiary company of Singapore Airlines. Under the agreement, our two companies will collaborate in the field of data analytics, and explore areas of research, development and commercialization of advanced diagnostic software for use in the aviation industry. SIAEC’s airline customers will benefit because this agreement enables us to jointly deliver solutions that will improve the accuracy of fault isolation and corrective actions through the use of analytics.
Given our experience in developing and providing integrated diagnostic and troubleshooting software solutions, CaseBank is an ideal partner for this project with SIAEC. In 2017, SIAEC began using our ChronicX® solution to increase aircraft availability and improve repair efficiency. CaseBank’s SpotLight® advanced diagnostic software streamlines the troubleshooting process and reduces aircraft maintenance downtime and component removal costs. The key to CaseBank’s guided diagnostic software is that it employs “hybrid reasoning,” a core technology that combines engineering knowledge with field experience to pinpoint post-production faults, reduce troubleshooting time, and boost availability of equipment.
CaseBank is tremendously excited to build solutions for SIAEC and its customers. With its client base of more than 80 international carriers and aerospace equipment manufacturers, SIAEC provides line maintenance services at 37 airports in 8 countries, as well as airframe and component services on some of the most advanced and widely used commercial aircraft in the world. This joint agreement is a positive development, not only for CaseBank but also for the entire southeast Asian aviation MRO industry.
The Singapore Air Show is always an important forum to meet with members of the aviation industry and many of our customers. The ATP-CaseBank team especially enjoyed the up-close tours we received of several aircraft models that benefit from our technologies, including Bombardier’s C-Series aircraft and Lockheed Martin’s F-35 Joint Strike Fighter.
